Hello,
How is everyone? I hope you’re all having a lovely Easter weekend. It’s technically still the weekend as it’s a bank holiday here in the UK. So I’m spending the day recharging my batteries and making some plans for the coming weeks. I’ve been feeling a little under the weather lately and I think it’s just from not taking care of myself. I tend to throw myself into things head on and let myself become overwhelmed and flustered, then I start to neglect myself and that leads to me feeling a bit rubbish. So, this weekend, I’m relaxing and trying to get my creative juices flowing again
I’ve got a couple of projects that I want to finish this week, then a few more starting after that so it’s a busy few weeks ahead for me. To tackle big jobs and not get muddled up, I’ve started making tons and tons of lists. It’s really helping. I use my planner daily now and over the last year or so having a place to organise my life, my thoughts and keep things that inspire me has truly been invaluable to my creativity. I’m embracing some summer vibes at the moment with my Kikki K Cute planner. It’s on sale right now and so pretty I even bought my daughter an identical one. But I own a few now so I can change them up whenever the mood strikes me. This Dokibooks Discagenda Diva in Rose Gold is probably going to be my next purchase. It’s so pretty and totally ties in with my brand colours. I may be in need of a blog planner.
I had a pretty drastic change done to my hair a few weeks ago and I’m still really getting used to it. I’m thinking that perhaps I’m not really happy with the pink this time (I’ve been pink before), and as much as my hair needed a good cut I’m looking a bit like a drag queen so I may be heading back to the salon next week to go back to my natural colour. The hair extensions might even be coming out for a while too. It probably looks good already but my confidence is a little low when it comes to my appearance right now so I need little boost. Maybe a little shopping trip and pamper is in order. I’m loving Tara Lynn’s look. She’s so natural and beautiful, and as a plus size model she’s definitely someone who’s style I want to emulate.
April starts in a few days. Can you believe it? Where is this year going? At the start of the year I’d planned to have so much achieved by now and it seemed like so far away… an now, here we are. The fact that spring is well and truly underway is certainly lifting my spirits. The nicer weather, flowers and the days getting longer. How can you not feel positive at that? I’m certainly going to be hustling over the next few months though with my business. Things are starting to take off for me with freelance work and I don’t want things to dry up over the summer. So I’ll be launching some pre made wordpress themes, logos and branding sets that will be ready to purchase and use hopefully around May.
I’ve also been emersing myself in lots of books and videos that inspire me. Rather than wasting my time scrolling up and down Facebook, which just leaves me feeling bad about myself and grumpy at peoples ignorance and stupidity, I’m trying to use my free time a little more wisely and think about what I can do to benefit myself and my business. I’ve just downloaded the audio book for The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris. It seems to be one of those books that a lot of successful people recommend so it’s one to tick off the list.
Another thing I like to do when I’m on a bit of a downer is watch videos that motivate me. Tony Robbins is a great person to watch. I’m liking this one below about how to get yourself out of a funk.
So, how was your Easter? Can you recommend any great style tips or blogs for us plus size ladies? What do you do if you’re in a bit of a creative funk? I’d love to know in the comments below.
I found you through April Love. I love your site and your style! Can’t wait to browse a little more:)
Thank you. I’m actually a little behind with it. Oh dear. 🙂 Thanks for the love though xxx
